Privacy policy

What data we keep, what for, who we share it with and how to delete it. No advertising cookies, and we sell nothing to anyone.

1. Who is responsible

2. What data we keep

• Your account: your email and your password (encrypted: nobody can read it, not even us). If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email from Google.
• Your measurements: the measurement profiles you create (the name you give them and their measurements: bust, waist, hips, height…) and the designs you save.
• Your downloads: which pattern you downloaded and when. It is used to apply your plan’s limits.
• Payment: if you take out a plan, Stripe handles the payment. We neither see nor store your card details; only the status of your subscription.
• Use of the website and the app: our own statistics, without cookies (which screens are visited, which buttons are pressed). On the public website we do not know who you are. Inside the app, this data is linked to your account so we can understand how it is used and improve it; it is never shared or used for advertising.
• Technical data: like any website, the host logs the IP address and browser of each visit, for security.

3. What for, and on what legal basis

• Providing the service (your account, drafting and downloading your patterns, charging your plan): because it is necessary for the contract you accept when you sign up.
• Writing to you about the service (the welcome email, notices about your account or subscription): under the same contract.
• Invoicing and tax obligations: because the law requires it.
• Security and our own statistics: on the basis of our legitimate interest in the service working and improving, without profiling you.
• News and promotions: only if you give us permission, and you can withdraw it at any time from the email itself.

4. Who we share it with

Only with the providers we need for Kokïn to work, who process the data on our behalf and under contract:

• Supabase: database and user accounts.
• Vercel: hosting of the website and the app.
• Stripe: payment for the paid plans.
• Resend: sending the service emails.
• Google: sign-in with Google, if you use it, and the website’s fonts (when loading them, your browser requests the files from Google).

Some of these providers are in the United States or may access data from there. In that case, the transfer is covered by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or by the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses. We do not sell or hand over your data to anyone else.

5. How long

For as long as you have an account. If you delete it, we erase your data within 30 days at most, except invoices, which the law requires us to keep for 10 years.

6. Your rights

You can ask us at any time to see your data, correct it, delete it, take it with you in a file, restrict its use or object to it. Write to [PENDING: contact email, e.g. hola@kokinstudio.com] and we will reply within one month at most. If you think we have not handled it properly, you can complain to the data protection authority: the CNIL in France (cnil.fr) or the authority of your country of residence.

7. Cookies and storage in your browser

We do not use advertising cookies or third-party analytics cookies. The app stores in your browser (with localStorage) only what it needs to work: your open session, a copy of your measurement profiles so the app runs fast, your language and the garment or plan you chose on this website before signing in. As this is essential to the service, it does not need your consent. You can delete it whenever you like from your browser settings.

8. Minors

You must be at least 16 to create an account. To take out a paid plan, you must be of legal age or have permission from your parent or guardian.

9. Changes

If we change this policy in a significant way, we will let you know by email before the change applies.
